PSP Anti Virus Already?

Posted by UNKOWN

Well in the wake of a recent piece of homebrew ruining PSP’s Dark Killer has released the first Sony PSP anti virus program. While it is no Norton yet it is a very good first step.

PSafeP is a windows tool to scan Sony PSP executable (EBOOT.PBP) files for suspicious code.

Important Note: Due to PSafeP scanning for any and all access to the flash memory, some legitimate software (ex: LUA Player, PSPInside) that accesses flash0 to load certain prx modules will fail the scan even though they are 100% percent safe.”

New Team On The Block!

Posted by UNKOWN

Here at psphacks2.0, our crack team has divised a true downgrader for versions 1.5x, and....2.00!

Thats right you heard me 2.00. This program is still in testing though. the 1.5x versions will be released sometime during the week. As for 2.00 we have yet to find this program reliable. In total 14/21 psp's we atemped this downgrade on only 7 were not bricked! On the 1.5x versions we bricked 2/20.

This downgrade works by using the recent exploit of using the backgrounds to go in and change some settings so that the max of 64kb is removed. Then with a seperate program (this is the actual downgrader) you execute it and it reflashes the firmware to version 9.99. We have basicly taken firmware 1.0 added 1.5 compatibility and the 2.00 webrowser with full java and flash support, thus creating version 9.99. we have also taken the liberty of adding in gamesharing that stores to memory stick!

Unfortunatly this update to 9.99/downgrader will be larger than 100mb since it is in raw data. So all those people with 32 and 64mb cards, your out of luck! (sorry)

2.0 Firmware Dumper

Posted by UNKOWN

A firmware dumper for 2.0 has been released! This works in the same manner as the previous 2.0 exploit [homebrew] demonstrations.

Download 2.0 Firmware Dumper

How to use:

  1. Place ‘h.bin’ in the root of your memory stick - i.e.) x:\h.bin
  2. Set wallpaper to frame_buffer.png (without overflow.tif present in the PHOTO directory, or it will crash).
  3. Add overflow.tif to the PHOTO directory, and open into the photo
  4. Watch the firmware dump to your memory stick!

Posted by UNKOWN

Update: And here’s the source code!

toc2rta free development network have created this and are making big steps once again in the hacking world

This post was first seen on psp-hacks.com (not this site)

Pure binary loader.

* it’s loaded at 0×08810000
* it’s max 64 kB
* it’s pure binary MIPS code
* you have to use syscalls and not NIDs
* it runs in user space!
* it’s called h.bin (Hello world) in the root of the MemoryStick

Set the frame_buffer.png as background like before and Place the new overflow.tif in the photos dir and the h.bin on the memory stick. It loads ms0:/h.bin

Download ‘Hello World’ for v2.0

Thanx again!
